4. Lawful Basis
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007, strictly necessary cookies may be set on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a functioning service — no separate consent is required for these. All other cookie categories (performance, functional, and advertising) are set only on the basis of your informed consent (opt-in), which you provide via the cookie banner when you first visit the Site. You may withdraw consent at any time by following the instructions in section 5 below.

When you first visit the Site, a cookie-consent banner gives you the choice to "Accept all" or "Essential only". Your preference is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key __cc_v1. 8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC header, we treat it as a withdrawal of consent for analytics and advertising cookies — only strictly necessary cookies will be set, regardless of any prior banner choice. We do not currently respond to the older Do Not Track (DNT) header, as there is no standardised interpretation for it. GPC is the mechanism we recommend.
